In the golf world Miura is similarly respected for its craftsmanship, a brand whose foundations lie in founder Katsuhiro Miura’s penchant for crafting sets of irons by hand. Now the two have teamed up for the first time to deliver a collection that sees both brands at their best.
Encompassing apparel and equipment, the key visual element of the collection is a collaborative logo combining the Reigning Champ monogram with “MIURA” and “1957”, the year that the Japanese brand was founded. Although the collection as a whole goes from strength to strength, the standout piece is the set of Miura MB-101 irons. Based off of Miura’s signature player’s irons, the 8-piece set features logo debossment, branded ferrules, premium laced leather grips and a luxurious satin chrome finish. The set comes standard with True Temper Dynamic Golf X100 Tour Issue shafts, but it can also be custom fit to suit individual set ups.
The 8-piece apparel range meanwhile, takes a page out of Reigning Champ’s playbook opting for all black with understated tonal logo application. The Miura x Reigning Champ Copper Jersey Scratch Polo may appear like a simple golf shirt on the surface, but the copper-infused fabric fights off odor and the mesh side panels ensure breathability while flat lock seams maintain RC’s signature look. The Miura x Reigning Champ Albatross Jacket, on the other hand, is constructed from water-repellent stretch nylon and features convertible zip sleeves to suit different climates.
Those looking to shop the collection can head over to Reigning Champ or Miura’s website now. The irons are priced at $2800 USD while the apparel ranges between $60 and $295 USD.
